ORANGE AND BLUE AND BROWN...OH MY!

© Melissa Nowakowski 2009

Every so often an unusual colour-theme pops its lil' head out from the same old boring colour trends and really makes a splash. For this Planner, it's orange, blue and brown. You've seen blue and brown. You've seen orange and brown. It's likely that you've even seen orange and blue. But rarely do you see all three together.

A bit bold, a bit suave and ever-so-stylish this colour combo can turn any event from "Oh how pretty" to "oh my, what colour!"

Whether the colour is exposed through stripes, solids or polka dots or whether two colours are prominent with the third merely acting as an accent, orange, blue and brown is one combo that stands out from the rest.

Mix bright orange with royal blue and brown for a fun, bold effect. Or pair up burnt orange, ice blue and brown for a more sophisticated pallette. Whatever shade you choose offers up endless possibilities.

"CIRQUE" THEME

© Melissa Nowakowski September 14 2009

Every wedding planner has a "Dream Theme" for a wedding or an event. And with that "Dream Theme" comes the hope that one day a client will be brave enough (or let's face it -- have the budget) to create it.

This planner's dream theme is "CIRQUE" -- a beautiful blend of the mystique of Cirque du Soliel and the whimsical essence of feathers and pearls. With the entertainment of stilt walkers, contortionists and other painted performers during cocktail hour and a juggling performance followed by a live band during the reception, this event would overflow with thrills at every turn.

Combining whispy feathers with peakcock for charming centerpieces and illuminating the tent walls in purple and turquoise creates an elegant take on the circus theme -- a theme that has been previously used for corporate events but never for a wedding.

This planner would give her right arm to plan a "cirque" wedding and is on the hunt for a client daring enough to give her the opportunity.

Any takers?
