BRIDAL ALERT:
WHITE BY VERA WANG

"To be able to do this and make it more accessible to women is, for me, the hugest privilege and honour after nearly forty years in fashion"
- Vera Wang, backstage at The Oprah Winfrey Show

This Planner was super stoked to learn of Vera Wang's new collection of uniquely structured wedding gowns -- White by Vera Wang -- specifically designed for the bridal commodity. I've been a fan of Vera Wang for quite some time, especially her Spring 2010 collection (*swoon!*), but, in all honesty, not all of This Planner's clientele have been of the haute couture set. And so I've been waiting for the day that Vera Wang's exquisite designs became achievable for every Bride's pocketbook.

Well VW just made this gal one happy Planner!

Just in time for Spring 2011, White by Vera Wang has hit Canada's newest David's Bridal franchise in Scarborough, Ontario and Mississauga, Ontario.

The bold structures, creative draping and elegant whimsy created by yards upon yards of tulle and inventive pleating and materials are the result of inspiration taken from muses like painter Degas, Napoleon's Josephine and from designs originally created for Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump. The slightly nuanced necklines, hems and detailing combined with new concepts (such as the blending of lace with pleating) grace over 12 different designs from full ball gowns to sleek silhouettes.

Another great feature of the collection are the interchangeable sashes and accessories which allow for Brides to alter the designs -- adding a bit of edge to some, a dash of bling to others and a touch of personalization to all. And with a price range of $700 to $1700 CDN, those Brides who have long dreamed of donning a Vera Wang but couldn't absorb the price tag are about to receive the best wedding present they could have ever imagined.

"When you wear a ball gown or a wedding gown, it's not just a T-shirt. It takes great technical expertise, huge draping and the ability to alter and fit to a variety of Brides" -- Vera Wang

I think Vera Wang Bridesmaid Dresses are well-designed and look stunning on young women. For my sister’s marriage I also bought Vera Wang Bridesmaid Dresses from tradesy.com site. I am still very fascinated with the soft stuff of my dress.
